Guillen, Buehrle ejected by umpire West vs. Indians

CLEVELAND - White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen and starting pitcher Mark Buehrle were each ejected by first-base umpire Joe West early in Wednesday's game against the Indians at Progressive Field.

West called Buehrle for a balk in the second inning, and Guillen was tossed out after he came out of the dugout to argue the call.

In the third inning, West called another balk on Buehrle and the Sox' left-hander was tossed. While being restrained by catcher A.J. Pierzynski and others, Buehrle tried getting to West.

"Joe West is a travesty to baseball," announcer Ken "Hawk" Harrelson said on the White Sox' Channel 9 TV broadcast.

Guillen has been ejected three times by West since taking over as Sox manager in 2004.

Buehrle was tossed out of a game for only the second time in his career. The first came at Baltimore on Aug. 1, 2005.

Relief pitcher Scott Radinsky was the last White Sox pitcher to be called for 2 balks in a game, on June 8, 1993. Ironically, Radinsky is now working as Cleveland's bullpen coach.

Randy Williams relieved Buehrle with one in the third inning.

In the fourth, the White Sox took a 3-0 lead against Cleveland starter Jake Westbrook. Two scored on Mark Teahens two-out double.
