Quinn criticizes Brady for 'running down' state
SPRINGFIELD -- Gov. Pat Quinn says Republican challenger Bill Brady is "running down" the state of Illinois -- an accusation that Brady denies.
Quinn says Brady should stop criticizing Illinois' business climate. The Chicago Democrat says the governor should be a cheerleader for Illinois workers and the business climate.
Brady is a Bloomington state senator and businessman. He says Illinois businesses are hampered by high taxes and fees, the state budget deficit and Illinois' history of corruption.
Brady says he is a cheerleader for improving Illinois and that Quinn is trying to mask the economic problems he helped create.
Both men spoke to a luncheon of business leaders Wednesday.
