Kane Co. announces road repaving projects

Smoother rides are coming to several Kane County roads starting next week.

Of course, there could be inconveniences for drivers since some roads will have lanes closed during daytime hours for the work.

The existing asphalt layer will be ground off, the roads oiled, then asphalt poured.

Work begins Tuesday and is expected to be finished no later than Oct. 1, according to the Kane County Transportation Department.

The county will start with Ramm Road, from McGough Road to Route 47. Then it moves on to:

• Bowes Road, from Muirhead Road to McLean Boulevard;

• Muirhead, from Plato Road to Bowes;

• Burlington Road, from Plato to Ellithorpe Road and Route 47 to Route 64;

• Big Timber Road, from Route 72 to Route 47 and from U.S. Route 20 to Harmony Road;

• Plank Road, from the DeKalb County line to U.S. 20;

• La Fox Road, from Dillonfield Drive to Keslinger Road;

• Keslinger, from Brundige Road to Pouley Road; and

• Jericho Road, from Orchard Road to U.S. Route 30.

Generally, when one road is being repaved, the next on the list is being ground. The order can change.
