Cohn, 41, was found dead early Saturday morning in the backyard of a house on the 1400 block of Victoria Avenue, a few blocks from her house, authorities said.

Police responded to the area after receiving a 911 call for medical assistance, authorities said.

Cohn suffered facial injuries, but those wounds may not have killed her, Lake County Coroner Dr. Richard Keller said. Her body was nude when found, police said.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, Keller said. Officials are awaiting the results of toxicology tests and a ruling from a forensic pathologist, he said.

North Chicago police and the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force investigated Cohn's death, and the investigation led to Ortero, police said.

Ortero was held without bond at Lake County jail, police said.
