Reserve a rain barrelPre-ordering for rain barrels is under way through the Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District. Barrels, which are 55 gallons and cost $79 each, come in black, blue, gray or terra cotta. Linking hoses, pedestal riser, flex elbows and other accessories can be purchased separately. The hoses can be used to connect multiple rain barrels or divert water to a garden or flower bed. Deadline for all orders is April 30. Pickup will be noon to 7 p.m. May 12 and 13, at the Lake County Fairgrounds. The honor was given in recognition of the bank employees' volunteer efforts.State Bank employees provided volunteer support at various events throughout the year. Funds will allow members to attend a fire cadet training program this summer, officials said.Flu clinic in MundeleinThe Lake County Health Department will offer a walk-in H1N1 flu vaccination clinic at New Hope Christian Fellowship Church, 1401 South Lake St., Mundelein, through to Saturday, April 3.
