Batavia pancake breakfast:The 31st Annual Batavia Lions Club Pancake Breakfast will be held from 7:30 a.m. to noon today at East Side Park District Community Center, Wilson and Van Buren streets. The funds raised from the breakfast go toward the Lions Club's scholarship program. The all-you-can-eat breakfast is $5 for adults and $2.50 for kids 12 and younger. Contact Dave Burdelak at (630) 292-8214.Sign for Fair Map in Geneva:The League of Women Voters of Geneva-St. Charles will solicit signatures today to put a referendum for the Fair Map Amendment on the November ballot. The petition signing will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the Little Owl restaurant, 101 W. State St., Geneva. The Fair Map Amendment would change the process of drawing Illinois' legislative districts. The amendment would move map drawing power from incumbent legislators to an independent commission. The amendment would also mandate greater transparency during the mapping process, including public hearings. The entry fee is $325 and the top 10 finishers win cash and prizes. The cost of the tournament includes hors d'oeuvres and a buffet dinner. Spectator tickets are $10.
