Batavia pancake breakfast:

The 31st Annual Batavia Lions Club Pancake Breakfast will be held from 7:30 a.m. to noon today at East Side Park District Community Center, Wilson and Van Buren streets. The funds raised from the breakfast go toward the Lions Club's scholarship program. The all-you-can-eat breakfast is $5 for adults and $2.50 for kids 12 and younger. Sign for Fair Map in Geneva:

The League of Women Voters of Geneva-St. Charles will solicit signatures today to put a referendum for the Fair Map Amendment on the November ballot. The petition signing will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the Little Owl restaurant, 101 W. State St., Geneva. The Fair Map Amendment would change the process of drawing Illinois' legislative districts. The amendment would move map drawing power from incumbent legislators to an independent commission. The amendment would also mandate greater transparency during the mapping process, including public hearings. For more information or sign a petition, go to lwvgenstc.org.

RITAS Ministry's poker:

The first RITAS Ministry Luck of the Draw Poker Tournament will be held from noon to 2 a.m. today at Pipers Banquet Hall, 1295 Butterfield Road, Aurora. The entry fee is $325 and the top 10 finishers win cash and prizes. The cost of the tournament includes hors d'oeuvres and a buffet dinner. Spectator tickets are $10. Route 64 down to 1 lane:

One lane of Route 64, just east of Randall Road in St. Charles, will be closed for one day sometime next week. The closure is for eastbound traffic only. Increased travel times are expected. Questions regarding the closure can be directed to David Boesch of the county transportation department at (630) 845-7875.

Seniors: Need tax help?:

Free tax help is available to senior citizens courtesy of AARP-trained tax aides. Assistance is available 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Geneva Township Senior Center, 400 Wheeler Drive. You'll need to bring your 2008 tax return and tax papers from 2009.
