Fundraiser for dog, cat rescue

A fundraiser for Barrington-based Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus (IDR+) will start at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at Tinman's Pub at the corner of routes 14 and 22 in Fox River Grove. Thirty pieces of high-quality meat will be raffled off. Admission is free and winners must be present. The fundraiser also will feature live music, a 50/50 raffle, door prizes and food. The bar will be open for beverages. Over the past six years, IDR+ has found permanent homes for 3,000 Dobermans and "Plus" dogs, which are non-Dobermans and mixes. Hundreds of cats have also been placed. The fundraiser will help the rescue generate money for food and vet care for the animals currently up for adoption. For more information about IDR+, call (847) 612-6417 or visit the Web site ILDobeRescue.com.
