Glenbrook South snaps Libertyville's 15-game streak

Libertyville's girls basketball team hadn't lost a game since Dec. 11.

The Wildcats' winning streak came to a halt at 15 games, however, as they dropped a 49-47 decision to host Glenbrook South in Glenview on Wednesday night.

Savannah Trees scored 19 points to lead Libertyville (21-5).

Grayslake North 53, Waukegan 40: Brianna Leon had a breakout game for the Knights in the nonconference game, scoring a season-high 11 points and grabbing 7 rebounds.

Kinsey Siler also scored 11 points for Grayslake North, while Allie Ceglarek added 10. Brooke Sauer contributed 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Katie McGrath had 8 rebounds and 4 steals.

The Knights led the entire way.

Carmel 37, Nazareth 25: Beth Scudder scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, as the Corsairs won the East Suburban Catholic Conference game.

Kristine Ruhl added 10 points for Carmel (12-13, 3-6), which led 12-4 at halftime.

Richmond-Burton 63, Lakes 46: Asja Triplett had a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds for the visiting Eagles in the nonconference game.

Katie Brinser scored 9 points for Lakes (8-16).

Richmond-Burton improved to 11-12.
