Lakes tops visiting Wauconda

A solid second half helped Lakes' boys basketball team pull out a 55-42 win over visiting Wauconda on Tuesday night and remain in sole possession of second place in the North Suburban Conference Prairie Division.

John Androus scored 19 points and Tyler Swindle added 14 for the Eagles (9-14, 6-2).

Lakes led 18-12 at halftime and then outscored Wauconda (6-16, 1-8) by a 21-11 margin in the third quarter.

Tyler Gick poured in 16 points for the Bulldogs, and Kyle Ryan scored 12.

Vernon Hills 65, Grant 48: Chris Argianas scored 18 points, equaling his season high, as the host Cougars won the North Suburban Prairie Division game.

Vernon Hills (14-5, 6-3) also received 15 points from DaVaris Daniels and 14 from Chris Morgan.

Grant's Shane Richardson led all scorers with 21 points. Jerry Gaylor added 11 for the Bulldogs (6-12, 3-5).

Grayslake Central 84, Woodstock North 36: The Rams cruised, winning their sixth in a row to stay atop the Fox Valley Conference Fox Division standings.

Grayslake Central (12-6, 6-0) was paced by Josh Rappaport's 15 points and C.J. Stempeck's 12. Three Rams - Matt Murphy, Darius Dacanay and Tim Abbott - scored 9 points. Steve Brocious had eight.

North Chicago 91, Round Lake 51: The Warhawks improved to 9-0 in the North Suburban Prairie Division.

Round Lake (2-17, 2-7) was led by Juddon Carter's 21 points. Jon Martinez scored in double figures, as well, with 11.
