Schools cheered by 1st place finish

Lake Zurich Middle School North and St. Mary School-Buffalo Grove each collected first-place finishes in the Illinois Elementary School Association's cheerleading competition, according to results released Monday. Lake Zurich Middle School North placed first in the Large Team Cheer competition, and second in Large Team Routine. St. Mary School-Buffalo Grove placed first in the Small Team Cheer competition and fifth in Small Team Routine. The competition was Saturday in the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria.
