2 N.Y. men charged in house fire tied to killings

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. -- Two 33-year-old men have been charged in connection with a Long Island house fire in which three people were found shot to death.

Thomas Singletary, of Central Islip, pleaded not guilty to arson on Monday and was ordered held on $1 million cash bail. A call to his attorney, Douglas O'Connor, was not answered.

A Suffolk County prosecutor's spokesman says Hasan Vaughan, also of Central Islip, faces arraignment Feb. 4 on criminal charges in a sealed indictment. No information was immediately available on his attorney.

The bodies of 31-year-old Mykier Daniels, her 28-year-old sister, Katrice Daniels, and 19-year-old Louis Calixto Jr. were found Aug. 11 in the Central Islip house fire.

Investigators say the fire was set to cover the killings.
