Moore for county board

Over the past year the Kane County Board has had to make some of the toughest financial decisions in its history. Just as each of us have had to tighten the budgets in our own lives during these tough economic times, the board has had to struggle with cost cutting, staffing reductions and changes in services to save every available dollar. I personally struggled as I voted to reduce many important programs and cut other services, as unforced mandates by the state legislature require us to reallocate funds for other programs that we have little or no say in.

As a financial adviser and a former member of Carpentersville's Finance and Audit Committee, Don Moore has served the residents of Carpentersville. As a secretary of the finance council at St. Mary's Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion and as vice president of his homeowners association, Don has served his community. And as a Marine Corps veteran, Don has served all of us.

I believe Don's background has prepared him well to be the best candidate to continue making tough decisions for the residents of Kane County. That is why I am endorsing Don Moore for Kane County Board District 23.
