Buffalo Grove police have charged two people with endangering children after a person reported that two children, ages seven and one, had been left in a vehicle in the parking lot at a grocery store at 79 McHenry Road, unattended for 10 minutes.

An officer spoke with the seven-year-old child, who stated that her parents were in the store shopping. It took another 13 minutes for the parents to show up, according to police reports. The parents were arrested about 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, and the Department of Children and Family Services was contacted.

Those charged with endangering the life and health of a child were Sandra E. Reyes-Reyes, 29, of the 100 block of East Strong Street, Wheeling, and Nestor C. Teran, 25, also of the 100 block of East Strong Street, Wheeling.
