One good choice for Board of Review

Before moving to Illinois, I practiced law in Michigan and didn't pay much attention to politics. I voted, but that was about it. This year though, I feel the need to get involved locally and nationally. That is why I am writing this letter about the Cook County Board of Review. As many may be aware there are two candidates running to represent the Republican Party in the 2010 election, Sean Morrison and Dan Patlak.

Mr. Morrison is the owner of a business. I liked that because my husband and I are small business owners. However I noticed that he did not have any visible experience in real estate or in the valuation of real estate. That concerned me. Then I read more. Mr. Morrison appears to be a recent Republican convert. This made me mad because it seemed Mr. Morrison was trying to be something he is not, a conservative Republican.

I am not a fool, Mr. Morrison, please do not treat me as such.

Dan Patlak has been an analyst for the Board of Review and twice elected as assessor of Wheeling Township. He is a licensed real estate broker, a graduate of the Real Estate Institute, a member of the National and Illinois Association of Realtors, and a member of the International Association of Assessing Officers.

Mr. Patlak is obviously better qualified for the Cook County Board of Review. Also, he has been a Republican Precinct Captain for sixteen years, which makes me confident that he is a Republican.

The choice is clear. Vote Patlak. He has the experience and gee, he actually is a Republican.
