Rep. Jackson endorses Quinn for governor

MATTESON -- Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. says he's endorsing Gov. Pat Quinn because of the governor's emphasis on job creation.

Jackson calls Quinn a man of his word. And he says he's happy the governor supports a plan for a third regional airport in the far southern Chicago suburb of Peotone.

Quinn says he isn't concerned about being linked to Jackson. The congressman was being investigated by the House ethics committee over his efforts to convince former Gov. Rod Blagojevich to appoint Jackson to President Obama's former Senate seat. The probe was deferred last fall at the request of federal prosecutors, who already are investigating Blagojevich.

Blagojevich faces federal charges that include allegedly scheming to sell Obama's old seat.
