Rush releases schedule for Arena One season

The Chicago Rush, now a member of the 15-team Arena Football One league, will begin its 2010 season on the road April 3 against the Iowa Barnstormers, the team announced Wednesday.

The Rush will open its home schedule at Allstate Arena when it hosts Bernie Kosar's Cleveland Gladiators at 3 p.m. April 11.

"I can't wait to get started," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "Since we made the announcement last month about our return, I have been overwhelmed by the response from fans.

"After a year off, I am looking forward to seeing the Allstate Arena fans again and am excited about some of the new natural rivalries the AF1 will create, including the addition of Iowa and Milwaukee to the league."

In 2010, the Rush will be a member of the National Conference's Midwest Division, and will play home-and-home games against the Cleveland Gladiators, Iowa Barnstormers and Milwaukee Iron.

"We think we have a very appealing home schedule which will bring some of the league's most-exciting teams to Chicago this season," said Rush president Ken Valdiserri. "We also have a great mix of dates for our fans, including two Friday night games, five Saturday night games and one Sunday afternoon game, which will help us in our commitment to provide quality, affordable sports entertainment for the entire family."

Chicago Rush season and group tickets are on sale now, with season ticket prices beginning at $64 per ticket at (847) 882-9400 or at www.arenarush.com.
