Submitted by Casey's Safe Haven Dog and Horse Rescue
Casey's Safe Haven Dog and Horse Rescue in Elburn is looking for foster homes for dogs and puppies for the month of December. They work with a dedicated group of volunteers in Kentucky to rescue puppies and dogs from the Appalachian Mountains. This small rural pound has an intake of 1,500 dogs per year and without rescue help the majority of these dogs would be euthanized. Winter is coming and the dogs at the pound are housed outside; even new moms and babies are housed outside with only dog houses for shelter.
Casey's Safe Haven is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in Elburn. It recently expanded its horse rescue to include dogs and puppies. They provide the crate, leash, collar, dog food and all vetting. Your family provides love and daily training. Consider giving these homeless dogs and puppies a second chance by opening your heart and home during the holidays. They can find them permanent loving homes but they need a temporary stop along the way.
With your help, they can save 10 dogs or puppies and arrange transport from Kentucky for the weekend of Dec. 1 or 8. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to learn about becoming a foster parent for Casey's Safe Haven. Visit caseysil.org.
