The St. Charles Noon Kiwanis Club top awards for 2012 went to Laurie Milbourn and Lori Linkimer at the recent annual Installation Dinner held at the Q Center in St. Charles.
Laurie Milbourn received the Distinguished Service Award for her dedicated service on the board of directors, Kiwanis @ Nite chairwoman, publicity chairwoman, and work on numerous activities and fundraising events.
Lori Linkimer received two awards. She received the Zeller Award for implementing the St. Charles Noon Kiwanis Eliminate Project, part of a worldwide campaign to eliminate tetanus through maternal and neonatal immunizations. She baked bread to raise funds at each meeting. Also, Linkimer received the Kiwanian of the Year for her detailed work as membership chairwoman and on the Eliminate Project.
The St. Charles Noon Kiwanis Club greatly appreciated both women's contributions to the success of the St. Charles Noon Kiwanis Club and its mission of serving the needs of children.
The club currently has 84 members from the St. Charles community working on this commitment to children. The meetings are held at noon every Tuesday at the PNC Bank, 2600 E. Main St., St. Charles. For details, call Lori Linkimer at (630) 841-3278.
