    Naper Nights return this weekend at Naper Settlement with rock tribute bands American English (playing music of the Beatles on Friday) and Heartache Tonight (playing music of The Eagles on Saturday) in Naperville. Fans of comic books, cartoons and graphic novels won't want to miss Mighty Con at Pheasant Run in St. Charles. Plus, the Filipino Kingz of Comedy takes the stage at The Improv Comedy Showcase in Schaumburg.

But what’s different about "The Last of Us" is that it gives us a few people to care about. The protagonist is Joel, a bitter, cynical smuggler. His assignment is to deliver Ellie, a spunky 14-year-old girl, to a faction somewhere in the West. The two gradually warm up to each other, and Ellie isn’t as defenseless as she first appears.

    To prepare for her role as the larcenous leader of “The Bling Ring,” Winnetka's Katie Chang received an unusual assignment from her director, Sofia Coppola. Chang would lead her co-stars on an actual break-in of a Hollywood mansion to steal a specific set of items. “A week before the shooting began, Sofia had us break into the house of someone she knew,” the New Trier grad said.
